First Impressions: Beyond The Clouds, A Man and His Cat Vol, and My Androgynous Boyfriend

Today I am going to be talking about 3 new releases that I read recently, because I enjoyed them, and think you should pick them up. 

Beyond The Clouds, by Nicke

This is one of the most stunning manga I have ever read!

Theo, an orphan is taken in at a mechanics shop, and his only love is stories and books.  It's his escape, and how he deals with the horrors life has dealt him.  He spends his spare time in a junk yard looking for "treasure"  This boy is just TOO PURE and has the BEST IMAGINATION.

This leads him to discover a young little girl with wings.  One of her wings has been torn off, and she is suffering when Theo finds her.  What he doesn't know, is that this young girl has a dark side to her.  Theo protects her, and does everything he can to bring light and life into her world again.  He even is attempting to rebuild a new wing for her. 

I fell hard and fast for this series.  I teared up more than once. I squealed with delight out loud as I read it.  It is worth every moment you give it.  I love it so much!  Please pick up this beautiful manga!

A Man and His Cat, by Umi Sakurai

This volume of manga will make any animal lover feel "the feels"!

This is an adorable manga about a young kitten in a pet shop.  Because he is a chubby guy, and not the prettiest cat, he is continually passed over. That is, until this middle aged man comes into the shop, and chooses HIM!!! (My heart melted at this part btw!) He will now be known as Fukumaru.

The gentleman who adopts him is lonely. His wife is gone, and they had no children. His loneliness drove him to adopt an animal, because his late wife always wanted one.  

Through this touching, slice of life story, we see how Fukumaru and Mr. Kanda enjoy their life together, and become their own kind of family.  I can't get over all of the feelings that I felt while reading this, and all of the love that I felt pouring off the pages of this manga.  I am so grateful we have a physical publish for it here in the US!

My Androgynous Boyfriend by Tamekou

This is a story about a man who just wants to feel beautiful!

Meguru is a beautiful man.  He dresses very androgynous, and works hard to look his best.  He does this for himself, and himself alone. He is a model, and people look at him wherever he goes.  His supportive girlfriend Wako, has no complaints about it either.  She loves that he wants to look good.  She is an average career woman, and they have been dating for a long time. Meguru and Wako support each other in their endeavors. Meguru even helps Wako with her hair and makeup on big days at the office. 

Throughout this volume, we see them both in a variety of situations. Meguru also does an interview early on in the story.  We see him go get his nails done, go shopping, talking with work people, and of course, time with Wako.

I wish we would have seen a little more between the two of them, just because I really enjoyed seeing their interactions.  All in all, I am very excited to see where this goes though! 

If you can't tell by my excitement, I would highly recommend all 3 of these volumes of manga! I am wholly invested in these series now, and can't wait to see what happens next!
